We Help Young Adults Achieve Long-Term Recovery
At GateHouse, our drug and alcohol rehab program for young adults includes promoting personal responsibility, accountability and unique therapies tailored to adults from 18 to 30 years old. Addiction treatment for young adults is different from adult rehab, because unlike older addicts, young adults often feel they are invulnerable and don’t have an addiction problem. Young adults are less likely to have developed long-term relationships or careers that might encourage them to seek addiction treatment.

Whether it’s completing their education, establishing connections with people or choosing a career path, GateHouse’s addiction treatment for young adults is tailored to the individual’s needs.
Finally, GateHouse has experienced tremendous success with our widely respected evidence-based treatment format, employing therapies like these:

Components of Treatment
Age-Specific Care—GateHouse staff assesses where our clients are developmentally, and creates a treatment program based on their developmental needs.
Individualized Treatment—After undergoing a comprehensive assessment, the clinical staff develops an individualized treatment program to meet the needs of each client.
Family Program—Anyone close to a struggling loved one can also sense the impact of addiction. Educating family members and friends about addiction allows the healing to happen together.
Commitment to Change—Developing a sustainable system of values and beliefs is the initial step in providing a base for this change. The client must work with family members and the GateHouse team to develop and maintain these values.
Developing Life Skills—GateHouse teaches the coping skills necessary to help individuals overcome barriers so they can continue on the road to defining their own identity.
Reclaiming Values—Gatehouse helps clients rediscover and restore values they have discarded by teaching the importance of personal responsibility and accountability.
Reestablishing Lost Relationships—Establishing healthy relationships in a safe, sober community is vital to the individual’s commitment to change and long-term sobriety.

How We Treat Addiction
We recognize addiction as a disease that mentally, physically and emotionally changes the individual and we develop treatment plans customized for each client.

Intervention
According to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, over 90 percent of interventions succeed in getting the person to treatment. If you’re interested in our addiction treatment for young adults, we can help determine if an intervention is necessary.
How It Works
Interventions allow families to take a proactive stance. They help you reach out to the person who needs help.
When Is It Necessary?
Interventions aren’t the first step in helping an addict. There are specific situations where an intervention by a trained professional should be considered.
Intervention Letters
Intervention letters play a crucial role in an intervention. This is a structured way for you to structure your thoughts to be clearly presented to your loved one.
Levels of Care
Our treatments are designed to meet the unique needs of each client.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Clients will spend six hours a day, six days a week in group and individual counseling sessions. After a full day of therapy at our treatment center, clients reside in our houses with 24-hour staff presence and supervision.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP is designed to transition the client from Residential or PHP treatment back into the community. The client will undergo intensive group and individual therapy, case management, and family.
Outpatient Program (OP)
At this point, residents should have steady employment, attend meetings, work a 12-step program with a sponsor, participate in weekly one-on-one sessions and attend two groups each.
Addiction Treatment for Young Adults: Parents and Family
At GateHouse, addiction treatment for young adults includes a strong family program. For young adults, it’s more common that a family member has led them to drug or alcohol rehab. Our goal is to build or re-establish a healthy family support system that will be a foundation for long-term recovery.
